The Women's Edit

Leather Was Never Borrowed.

For decades a woman's leather jacket was described as borrowed — from a brother, a boyfriend, a man's wardrobe. It never was. It was cut narrower at the waist, shorter at the hip and sharper at the shoulder because it was made for a different body and a different intent. We cut ours the same way: as a first piece, not a hand-me-down.

01 — The Cut

Fit Is The Entire Difference

A men's jacket scaled down is still a men's jacket. The armhole sits too low, the shoulder overshoots, and the waist has nowhere to go. Every one of those details has to be redrawn, not shrunk.

Our women's patterns start from a higher armhole so the sleeve moves freely, a shorter body so the hip stays visible, and a shoulder set narrow enough that the line reads sharp over a dress as easily as over denim.

Armhole
Set high and close, so you can reach without the whole jacket lifting.
Waist
Shaped through the side seam rather than belted in — the line holds when it's open.
Length
Ends at the hip bone, the one length that works over trousers and dresses alike.

02 — The Hide

Soft Is A Choice, Not A Compromise

Lambskin and sheepskin sit lighter and drape closer to the body than cowhide. That's why most women's pieces start there — the jacket follows you instead of holding its own shape around you.

Softness isn't fragility. A fine hide broken in properly is more durable than a stiff one that cracks at the fold, because it moves where you move rather than resisting it. Suede sits softer still, with a matte surface that reads less sharp and more relaxed.

Lambskin for drape and weight. Cowhide for structure and a harder patina. Suede when you want the texture to be the statement.

03 — In Practice

The Layer That Finishes Everything

The reason a leather jacket earns its place isn't versatility in the abstract — it's that it sharpens whatever is already underneath it. Three examples.

Over Something Soft

A hard shoulder over a slip dress or fine knit is the oldest trick in the book because it still works — structure against drape, nothing else needed.

Instead Of A Blazer

Tan suede or a collarless cut over tailored trousers holds the same authority as a blazer with none of the formality. It reads considered, not corporate.

Sized Up On Purpose

Oversized and shearling-collared cuts aren't a fit mistake — they're a different proposition. Room for heavy knits underneath, and a silhouette that stays relaxed.
